Second Lieutenant Card

Cadet will talk the assessor through their start-up procedure and undertake a full engine start and readiness.
At a safe height the Cadet will demonstrate an air engine re-start
Assessor will ask a number of questions of the basic brevity calls – On Ground & In-flight
Assessor will assure and test TeamSpeak radio is setup and understood, including push to talk by the Cadet.
Assessor will assure and test Simple Radio setup is setup and understood, including push to talk by the Cadet.
The Assessor will lead in a taxi and take-off and extend to a safe height. Cadet will follow at a distance they are comfortable with.
The Assessor will lead a landing approach, land and taxi to a full stop. Cadet will follow at a distance they are comfortable with.
Cadet will talk the assessor through their shut down procedure and undertake a full engine stop. The cadet will then refuel/ rearm and start the aircraft for readiness.
The Cadet will perform a full start-up, taxi, take-off and extend to a safe height, incl. radio comms. Assessor will view proceedings from the observer slot.
Once airborne the cadet will follow a basic navigation route following Way Points.
The Cadet will perform an approach and circuit of the airport communicating with ATC. They will then carry out a Touch & Go landing. Twice consecutively.
The Cadet will perform a full stop landing and shutting down the engine. Assessor will view proceedings from the observer slot
A Formation taxi and take off will be done and will extend to a safe distance.
Cadet will follow the assessor in fairly close formation and then trail the assessor for a short Follow the Leader sortie.
A Formation landing and taxi will be done and will extend to a safe distance.

For Helicopter and Carrier based aircraft, the take-off, Navigation and landing requirements are the same. There is also the required hover manoeuvre below.

The Cadet will be required to transverse from a hover at various heights from one FARP pad/ Ship to another.
